OT students from around the state got the chance to mix and mingle during the OOTA convention at the end of September.  Students enjoyed meeting future colleagues and peers from different programs.  Students from the OUHSC Student Occupational Therapy Association contributed a basket to help raise funds for OOTA.  Thank you to all students who attended the convention, and be sure to tell your peers about the benefits of joining and being an active participant in OOTA!  I hope everyone had a peaceful, rejuvenating holiday season and I wish only the best for the new year!

Hello! I am Jenna Howsden, and I am the new student representative.  I am honored to serve our profession on the local and statewide level in this capacity!  I have been in contact with OT and OTA students across the state, and I look forward to being able to represent them in our organization.  Currently, there have been no student issues brought to my attention, but I am working with the OOTA membership committee to increase student membership in OOTA.  If there are any student issues, please contact me to let me know how OOTA can better serve our student members.  Thank you for this opportunity!

First, I want to thank everyone who helped promote OT month at the area Lowe’s stores.  I definitely appreciate all the students who helped and hope you will consider working on this project again next year.  Second, it is time to nominate individuals for the student representative position.  If you would like to run or know someone that would please notify me.  It has been a great experience for me.  It is a great way to get involved in our profession.  Last but not least, I hope everyone is having a wonderful end to the spring semester.  If I can do anything please let me know.
