We are quickly approaching the deadline for nominations
for this year’s elections. The positions on the Executive Board that are open
are:
President-Elect
This position will “intern” for a year under the current
President Elect, Sharon Sanderson, prior to assuming the Office of President.
This gives you a whole year to learn the position prior to accepting it. We need
a strong leader who has a vision for the future of OT in the state of Oklahoma.
You would represent the State at the national level and have first hand
knowledge of future plans for the profession.
Vice-President
This positions’ main responsibility is planning continuing
education opportunities for the membership and involvement in the annual
conference. Since we have a hired manager, the job duties have been reduced as
far as the vendors and mailings are involved. It is a good fit for an educator,
or anyone who likes to plan events and conferences.
Treasurer
The role of this position is to make sure OOTA stays on
budget so it can serve its members. Knowledge of financial accounting is
crucial. Anyone who has a business background or runs their own business is
well-suited to perform this job. Suzette is willing to assist with training the
new person and it is a great opportunity to learn financial software.
Student Elect
The role of this position is to represent the OT students
and administer the scholarship program. It is a good beginning leadership role
for anyone wanting to learn organizational and business skills.
AOTA Representative (Nominations closed)
AOTA Alternate (Nominations closed)
Qualifications and more detailed descriptions of the duties
may be found on the website or by contacting any current board member.
PLEASE fax your nomination to 918-494-1494 or call
918-494-1471 or email
rrreed@saintfrancis.com.
IT IS YOUR DUTY AS AN OOTA MEMBER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE
NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS AND YOUR SERVICE ON A COMMITTEE OR AS A BOARD MEMBER
IS VITALLY IMPORTANT.
